In 2007 we joined the Cartridge World Recycling Program! This program provides a convenient location for collecting inkjet and laser cartridges while it raises funds for our school.

The Cartridge World School Recycling Program is intended not only for school use, but also by the local community and businesses. Our school will receive money for the cartridges we collect from parents, community members and businesses.  Typically the most popular laser and inkjet cartridges that provide us with the most value are HP, Canon, Sharp and Lexmark.

Here’s how the program will work: teachers, students, parents, friends, business leaders and community members drop off their empty inkjet and laser cartridges at the school.  Periodically, a Cartridge World representative will pick up the empty cartridges collected at our school. Those cartridges are counted and their value is determined. Cartridge World will then deliver a check to our school.

A Cartridge Collection Bin (bright yellow), is located in the Parent Headquarters (immediately to your left as you walk in), which is directly across from the office. You can drop off your cartridges whenever it’s convenient for you or you may choose to collect them at your office and arrange to have them delivered to the school.  We have a second bin which we plan to make available during morning carpool.

I hope you will start bringing your empty laser and inkjet cartridges to our school immediately to help us raise funds.  In addition, please urge your neighbors, employer, church or civic groups to participate in the program.

Not only is this an easy way to raise school funds, it also teaches our students valuable lessons about the variety of materials that can be recycled as well as help them develop life long patterns of recycling.

Cartridge World refills and remanufactures all inkjet and laser cartridges at their store – if you would prefer to have your cartridge remanufactured at approximately 50% cost savings you can take your cartridge in, tell them you are supporting the school’s recycling program and they will credit us with your business – another source of fund raising.
