Read Across America Week is next week (from Febrary 27 thru March 2). The School Store wants to help the students get excited about it, so they will have an assortment of Dr. Seuss school
supplies that week. Additionally, all students that participate in Read Across America week will be eligible for receive a FREE ticket to enter into a raffle. Everyday, five lucky students will be called at the end of day dismissal announcement to get a free Dr. Seuss item. No
purchase necessary just lots of fun and reading spirits.

This year's theme is "Get in the Game...READ!" Students will be able to participate in daily activities to promote reading in a VERY FUN way.

The buzz this week has definitely been Captain Kingsley and his new partner, Princess Comet. The newest video aired this week,so ask your student about it. Or, if you student's classroom doesn't have a TV, let them watch the video from home. Just go to the Captain Kingsley in Action page to access all of his videos.

The Kingsley All Pro Dad breakfast is a great way to spend some quality time with your child.  Join us Thursday, March 1 at 7 a.m. in the Kingsley cafeteria for food and dialogue with your son or daughter around a family focused or character building topic. Food serving begins by 6:50 a.m.

Our annual Book Bonanza used book sale is scheduled for March 14-16 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Kingsley Media Center. In January, we collected more than 30 boxes of books thanks to you. Now, we just need to encourages buyers to come--we need your help. Please tell your neighbors, family members, friends from church, etc. This sale is definitely open to the Dunwoody community!

Not only does Kingsley keep 100% of the profit, but buyers get a great deal--the prices can't be beat!
  -  $1.00 for any soft cover book (adult or youth)
  -  $2.00 for any hard cover book  (adult or youth)

ATTENTION Rising 4th and 5th grade girls

The Dunwoody High School girls volleyball team is hosting a two week program for rising 4th – 8th grade girls. This is a great way to meet other girls and take the sport of volleyball for a test drive.

Attentions Kingsley families... have you sent in any Box Tops or Campbell's Soup Labels lately? There is a new collection box for both items in the Parent room across from the office. If you are coming to school this week for class parties, teacher conferences, etc... please remember your Box Tops and Soup Labels. Our next submission deadline is March 1!

Get Labels for Education without Labels
Did you know that you can earn Campbell's Soup Labels for Education for Kingsley without the clipping? Check out this link and consider registering your Kroger card with Labels for Education. Your eligible purchases at Kroger earns "elabels" which are electronically banked to Kingsley's account with Labels for Education! Simply Awesome!

If you would like your child to be in the Pre-K program next year, make sure you block time on April 17th. That's when the annual Pre-K lottery will take place for the 2012-2013 school year. To enter the lottery, parents must come to their districted schoool between 8:30am and 1:00pm and complete the required registration forms while on site. To register and enter the lottery, children MUST turn 4 years old on or before September 1, 2012.  For additional information, please visit the DeKalb County webpage, or for questions, please call the school office at 678-874-8902. Spread the word to your friends and neighbors with soon-to-be Pre-K students!

Did your student lose his or her agenda, or is has it taken a brutal beating? All student agendas are on sale now for only $3 while supplies last. Visit the school store to get a new one - M|W|F 7:20-7:50 a.m.

Students who participate in Read Across America week activities will be eligible to recceive a free raffle ticket for Dr. Seuss supplies. Or, they can also stop by the school store and purchase their own.

Go through your bookshelfs, baskets and nightstands and bring in any used books that you would like to donate. Just put your book donations in the boxes in the foyer entrance of the school. For the safety and comfort of our students (and their parents too) our Walking Wednesday program will take a winter break during the months of December, January and February. You are welcome to continue walking to school on your own, but Kingsley’s “Walking School Bus” is in the garage until Georgia Walk to School Day on March 7. Thank you to everyone that has made this program a tremendous success – we look forward to seeing everyone again in spring 2012!

New supplies have arrived, so stop by. Also, remember every Tuesday, the school store now has specialty and holiday items that will be only 25 cents for the children to buy between 7:20-7:50am, along with some other school favorite items.  Come and check us out every Tuesday to see what we will have.
