Allegra Johnson
Allegra is mother to Tabitha in Kindergarten and Hayden in 3rd grade. My oldest graduated from Kingsley and is now in 7th grade at Peachtree Charter Middle School, where I am finishing my term as Charter Council Chair.
Service to Kingsley includes. 2 years as Council Chair, 1 year as vice chair. Co-Editor for Kingsley's last Charter rewrite. Yearbook editor 5 years. Over the last 8 years I have been a room mom for numerous classes. I give Kingsley school tours, open cardoors each morning during carpool, served on Curriculum committee, help with Night of the Arts and volunteer in my children's classrooms.
I believe in what Kingsley has to offer my children and want that experience for other parents.
Tom Lambert
Tom is the father of a third grader at Kingsley and 6th grader at Kittredge. He has previously served as Chair of Kingsley’s Charter Council, and remains a very involved parent at the school. Tom is active outside of Kingsley as well, serving as a PTA president at Kittredge Magnet School, coach and board member at Murphey Candler and president of Kingsley Racquet and Swim Club.
Jeremy Marks
Jeremy is a very dedicated parent, involved both in the classroom and in the Kingsley community at large. Specifically, he has been instrumental in implementing the school's widespread use of iPads as tools for boosting language and math skills (he even wore an iPad costume to school back in the fall as part of his efforts!). When he's not volunteering at Kingsley, Jeremy enjoys baseball games, reading and spending time with his wife, Melanie, and their three sons, Jonah, Jack and Jaron.

This Friday, February 1, 2013, our Kingsley kids will jump rope during their PE time to raise money for the American Heart Association and for Coach Thomas! WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this event successful. Here's a quick checklist to show you how you can support The American Heart Association, Coach Thomas, and Kingsley Elementary. 1- Sign up to volunteer for one of the time slots. You can sign up for one hour or longer depending on your schedule. Volunteers will be taking the kids donations, serving refreshments, and cheering them on while they jump rope. These are the times that the kids will be jumping if you want too coordinate your volunteer time. Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled time and we can show you what to do. Email Ana Murphy at ad_89@bellsouth.net7:50am-8:50am - 3rd grade 8:50am-9:45am - 4th grade 9:45am-10:35am - 2nd grade 11:45-12:35pm Kindergarten 12:35-1:25pm - 1st grade 1:25pm-2:10pm- 5th grade 2- Bring refreshments. We desperately need BIG bottles of gatorade/powerade, 4 oz. bottles of water (you can get a pack of 60 at Costco for about $8), and small 4 oz. cups (small coffee cup size cups will work great). Drop off the drinks at the front office or at the gym. Email Ana Murphy at ad_89@bellsouth.net3- Raise money for the American Heart Association! Your child brought home the form last Thursday with all of the details. You can visit the website at www. heart.org/ jump to register your child. Then, email your family and friends and ask for their donations. Coach Thomas would like for every child to raise at least $50. Make checks payable to the American Heart Association and send the form and checks with your child on Friday. Coach Thomas has set a goal to raise $5000 for the AHA which will earn Kingsley Elementary a check for almost $500. Coach Thomas will use the money to buy new gymnastics mats for the kids to tumble on. His current mats are over 30 years old. Let's show our support and upgrade those mats! THERE’S STILL TIME TO RAISE MORE! The money you raise will help by funding research, changing laws to make everyone healthy and making helpful programs like Jump Rope For Heart. - Think about WHY you want to raise money to help kids and others with special hearts. Do you have a family member or friend with a special heart? Has one of the stories on the Jump Rope for Heart website inspired you to help? SHARE your “WHY” when you’re asking for donations.
- Set a GOAL for yourself: Could you send out 10 quick EMAILS? Could you make and send 10 E-CARDS? GO FOR IT!
- MAKE THE MOST out of this week!
Thanks for your support and your dedication to Kingsley Elementary! Ana Murphy and Vicki Letbetter
The first Chick-fil-A Spirit Night of the year is here! Join your Kingsley friends and family next Thursday, January 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Perimeter Pointe Chick-fil-A. Kingsley earns 20% of each purchase when the cashier is told that you're there for Kingsley Spirit Night. You MUST remember this important step for Kingsley to earn cash. As always, there will be a friendly hostess to help you in the dining area and free ice cream (with sprinkles, of course).
Sunday, January 27, 2-4 pmLeaf cleanup will be our main focus. Bring gloves, rakes, tarps and blowers, gas preferred but electric with a long extension cord might also work. We also need to get rid of a wood chip pile by the trailers so shovels, pitch forks and wheel barrows would be helpful for that. We know we can count on our parents to help keep our campus safe and looking great! Contact kcsgardenclub@yahoo.com with questions.
