We’ve rescheduled the upper grades’ Field Day for Monday, May 21. We definitely need help from some parents to make this day a success for our kids. If you can help with any of these shifts, please email your availability to Kate Goodhart at kgoodhart@bellsouth.net:
·  8:00·9:15 - 12 parent volunteers needed 
·  9:15-10:20 – 12 parent volunteers needed
·  10:20-11:30 – 9 parent volunteers needed
·  After lunch (about 12:15-1:00) – 6 parent volunteers needed
·  1:00-2:00 – Parents welcome to join in or cheer on the 5th grade kickball game

Additional details about the 2012-13 Council members and the roles they each will take will be published later this summer after the new Council members meet.

Twelve years ago, Sophie Trent started her journey as a Girl Scout at Kingsley, and now a junior in high school, she's working to earn the biggest and best award any Girl Scout can achieve--the Girl Scout Gold Award. To earn this prestigious award, she is coordinating a 30-day fitness challenge for students at Kingsley. The goal ... get Kingsley students active.

Please keep sending in all your Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels to school with your student. The collection box for both is in the Parent Room across from the office. Your Box Top/Campbell Soup Label coordinator is checking the box frequently trying to sort and count as many as possible before school ends!!

The DeKalb County School System has renewed the district’s BrainPOP subscription for the 2011 – 2012 school year! 

What is BrainPOP?

• A web-based resource that features more than 500 curriculum-based animated movies supported by various learning activities.
• BrainPop is normally used as a resource to explain or reinforce concepts in a style that students can relate to and that is aligned to state standards.
• There are three versions that DCSS has access to: BrainPOP, BrainPOP Jr. (K – 3), and BrainPOP Español.

This year, DCSS has added licensing rights for students to access BrainPop from home.
